We had our first art journal class on Saturday, and I think it was a success! We worked on making our journals and had a really nice morning playing with different techniques. We are meeting again in October, everyone is welcome, just look at the website (www.dorrie-doodle.com) for class times etc. Below are some photos of one of the journals I have been working on, I hope to get some more up soon. the journal above was made using a Pink Pig sketch pad. the covers & pages were taken off the binding for decoration, and then easily put back together using the bind it all machine.
We were most excited when the postie arrived this morning, with an airmail box we didn’t order! Inside was Donna’s project for the retreat (remember to look at the website www.dorrie-doodle.com for more info about the retreat). Here are some photos of the 6″x6″ book she will be showing us how to make. Please note the fantastic binding she has done, I’m looking forward to learning how to do this as neatly as she has! Shona
Some of you may know we are having ‘Retreat & Doodle’ on Saturday 28th October & Sunday 29th October. This event will be the first of its kind here in Aberdeen, in the North-East of Scotland. Location wise we couldn’t be luckier-the hotel is just across the road from both the train and bus stations, making it an easy journey for those of you coming by public transport. There is some free parking behind the hotel, as well as a convenient multi storey five minutes walk. For more detailed information you can look at the website, but we will be trying to keep you up to date with our progress , and pictures of samples through the blog. You will also be able to comment and ask questions here, as well as by email. There are still places available and it should be a really good weekend. We are already arguing over who has to be on shop duty!!

This is our first shottie of ‘blogging’ so you can bear with us while we get to grips with it! We mainly want to use it as a way of keeping you up to date with what we’re doing here at dorrie doodle, events we’re planning and projects we’re working on, without updating the website. So hopefully we’ll have regular posts, photos and gossip on here. Keep coming back!
